WWE Chairman and founding father Vince McMahon turned 70 years old this week. Notorious for his workaholic lifestyle as both the creative force behind the scenes as well as the evil ‘Mr.McMahon’ character on screen, at 70 there are no signs that he intends to slow down any time soon – having recently claimed that he regularly bench presses 450lbs. At heart, McMahon is an eccentric, red-meat eating, Republican ‘Alpha Male’ who’s favourite band is AC/DC, and who is known to hate the act of sneezing as it is something beyond his own control. He impressively combines micro-management of a publicly traded, billion dollar entertainment company with a willingness to plunge himself into bizarre and often hilarious scenes and storylines for which he writes, produces and stars. There are far worse ways to spend your time than falling into a worm-hole of Vince McMahon youtube clips – so here’s a list of some of the best….

Mr.McMahon’s Personal Assistant

While interviewing potential candidates to become his ‘personal assistant’ in 2003, Vince displays some of his finest slapstick work when Stacy Keibler shows up just after 2:25…

Torn-out Quads

At the conclusion of the 2005 Royal Rumble, a botched ending saw both Batista and John Cena accidentally eliminate each other at the same time. Legitimately furious that things had not gone as planned, an irate McMahon emerged from the backstage area to scald the performers involved while trying to give the audience the impression that he was there ‘in-character’ to re-start the match. His anger quickly turned to grimaced pain when he tore both quad muscles in his legs when entering the ring after 1:14…

“Are you ready for some wrestling?”

In 2004 McMahon pokes fun at the NFL and US TV network ABC following a controversial ‘Monday Night Football’ promo involving ‘Desperate Housewife’ Nicolette Sheridan and Terrell Owens of the Philadelphia Eagles, which drew more than 50,000 indecency complaints due to it’s sexually provocative nature.

Donald Trump Shaves His Head

At Wrestlemania 23, McMahon went head to head with Donald Trump in what was dubbed as the ‘Battle of the Billionaires’, with the winner shaving the loser’s head. Having his head shaved bald in front of a live crowd of 80,000 was considered a small price to pay for the mainstream media attention that Trump’s involvement would bring to WWE’s annual showcase. Proceedings kick off at 0:53….

Hospital Beating

Few can sell a beating in such hilarious fashion as McMahon. As WWE’s popularity peaked in the late 90’s, the evil ‘Mr.McMahon’ character was in full flow. Here he receives some un-wanted hospital visits from Mankind and Stone Cold Steve Austin, with the highlights being Austin’s creative use of a bed-pan and an enema. Again – it’s worth noting that McMahon himself is the one writing these scenes…

‘The Walk’

One of Mr.McMahon’s more absurd character traits is his distinctive ‘power walk’ entrance to the background of his ‘No Chance In Hell’ theme music….

Stand Back

In 1987 the then WWF was hosting it’s annual ‘Slammy Awards’ show….Yes that’s a fake brass band featuring ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, Jake ‘the Snake’ Roberts & Brutus ‘the Barber’ Beefcake…..Yes that’s Hulk Hogan on the bass…..Yes this was all Vince McMahon’s idea…..
